Prior to 1996, Mr. Zhang held important posts in Haihua Company (Tsinghua University), Xianfeng Company, Xintai Science and Technology Company, WKK Group (Hong Kong). He cofounded Beijing Chuanglian Communication and Network Co. Ltd. (Former HiChina) together with his brother. Between 1996 and1998, he was vice Chairman and CTO of Beijing Chuanglian, in charge of R&D, corporate strategy, customer service and internal management. He was vice Chairman and CTO of Civilink International Information Technology Co. Ltd.(Former HiChina) in 1999.

Mr. Zhang awarded "Top 10 Emerging Entrepreneur" of Zhongguancun Science and Technology Park in 2001 and "Excellent Young Entrepreneur" of Beijing in the year of 2002, 2003 and 2007.
