David Hong
KAIBO Investment Management, CEO
KTB Investments, Partner of China Team
David Hong is the partner of KTB (The largest VC/PE firm in Korea) China team and the CEO of KAIBO Investment Management Company. Prior to KTB Group, David was the Chief Representative of the investment banking business of DBS (Development Bank of Singapore). He previously served as the Vice President of ING Bank Shanghai Branch, and engaged in global equity investment in the London head office of Schroders Investment Management PLC. He has a total of eighteen years of professional experience in the areas of finance and investment.
David holds very rich native experience and resource in China. He was one of the pioneers of China’s capital market since he joined Shanghai Stock Exchange (SSE) at its forming stage in 1992, where he served for several important positions and developed China’s first financial futures product. He then left SSE to serve as the managing director of Securities Business of China Venture-tech Investment Group (China’s first VC firm, and one of the largest financial conglomerates), managing research, equity investment, and sales and trading.
David had actively engaged in the IPO of Shanghai Industrial Group in Hong Kong, and had helped many privately-owned enterprises like Luolai Textile in private equity financing, cross-border M&A, equity investment and IPO preparations. He successfully led the setting-up of the RMB PE fund. He has both rich experience and resources in China’s capital market and enterprises, as well as experience in overseas markets.
David Hong received both of his Bachelor’s and Doctor’s degrees in Economics from Fudan University.
