Hong jointed Intel Capital in 2007. Prior to Intel Capital, Hong was a partner in Prime Capital, a financial advisory firm, and acting as CFO/COO in Photo International, a VC-funded startup company in China. Prior to that, Hong came with over 10 years of industrial experience from HP, IBM, Siebel and Microsoft. And his responsibility in Microsoft includes the development of competitive strategy and response between Windows platform and Open Source.

Hong focuses on investments in software and Cleantech industry. He recently invested in Net Power Technologies. Hong is also Board Observer in Chipsbank and Net Power Technologies.

Hong has a BS in Electrical Engineering from Shanghai JiaoTong University and a MBA from the University of Chicago.
